Dental Implant 3D Planning
Dental implants planning using a digital workflow for greater accuracy, improves the patient experience and reduces time in the dental chair. Our state-of-the-art 3D x-rays and integrated software can meticulously plan your dental implant treatment with high precision and efficiency.
Our Cone Beam Computed Tomography scan (CBCT) is a 3D rendered image of the entire mouth. The images and software allow us to a number of important aspects. For example:
- Check bone density
- Measure and study the height and width of the bone available for implant placement
- Be sure there are no infections or other issues with the bone
- The software allows virtual implant placement. This means we can choose the type, width, length and position of the implant, before we even begin.
Why is 3D Digital Dental Implant Planning Important?
A dental implant is the only way to restore a missing tooth and at the same time, maintain the surrounding teeth healthy. An independent tooth is so much better for the patient than, let’s say, a dental bridge or a removal prothesis.
With this ultra-modern technology with advanced software, the experience for the patient is extremely comfortable. We know the exact position the implant will be placed due to the digital planning, and the trauma to the area is reduced.
Finally, a well-planned dental implant treatment can be beautifully executed with high precision. Consequently, recovery is faster and the patient has less chance of complications.

Restoring the Implant
Later, and once the implant is integrated with the bone, you come back for the crown over implant. Firstly, this consists of an abutment. The abutment is a connector that sits inside the top of the implant. This abutment holds the crown in place on top of the implant.
The good news is that both the abutment and the final crown are made in-clinic in a single appointment using 3D CAD CAM technology. Typically, these are made from reinforced E.Max ceramics or Zirconium for long lasting, highly esthetic results.
